Wall Tile Colour Schemes.

Glass tiles in all varieties are incredibly popular and the mosaic variety of glass wall tiles are used in almost any colour you could imagine to decorate many areas within the home. The clear variety of glass wall tiles is also very popular to adorn backsplash areas, behind cooker hobs, around sink and bath surrounds in bathrooms. The design style they offer can be contemporary modern or traditional and home owners can use mosaic tiles to create different themes within the home depending on their personal preferences.

Mosaic tiles also come in many varieties, home owners can choose from individual mosaic tiles and make a colourful mosaic pattern or they can purchase mosaic sheets which are easier and quicker to install especially if you are tiling larger areas.

Choosing the colour scheme you want is probably the most complex and time consuming project because the colour scheme of wall tiles will make the most impact within the room, although wall tile colour choices rest heavily on your own tastes, home owners will also have to take into consideration the size of the room and the other colours already present.

A colour wheel is a great way to make bathroom wall tile and kitchen wall tile choices because it’s a great way to see which colours work better together. The colour wheel will have a spectrum of colours from the most vibrant to the neutral shades and it’s a great way to mix and match the colours you like best.

If you like the bold statements that some colours can create, there are plenty of choices, vibrant green wall tiles and bright red wall tiles will make startling results especially when incorporated with lighter units and floor tile shades.

Mosaic tiles in a rainbow of colours can be used to take central place in backsplash areas in either in a random pattern or a more structured grid.

Darker coloured wall tiles work especially well when there is lots of natural light streaming into the room, this allows for the dark colour schemes to spread out and bounce around the room. For smaller spaces, warm natural toned wall tiles such as beiges, warm yellows and crèmes work especially well, home owners can also use darker coloured wall tiles but in smaller quantities and that’s where mosaic tiles make great additions and allows for the use of darker coloured wall tiles without overpowering the room.

How To Choose Kitchen Paint Colors - Kitchen Wall Painting Ideas

bit.ly ► Nadia’s tips on choosing the right kitchen paint colors: ○ Picking Colors and Materials – Go with warm tones that compliment your cabinets – Get color inspiration from the foods you regularly leave on display – Consider wallpaper – Get funky with chalkboard paint ○ Getting Creative – Paint your ceiling – Paint your wood or concrete floors – Get a professional cabinet painter – Create a pattern with stenciling ○ Using the Right Paint Type – Use a semi-gloss finish for easy clean-up – Go green with environmental friendly paints for little to no smell More Tips: ○ Deciding on a color scheme First, decide on the tone you’re going for, cool or warm. If you’re keeping your cabinets as they are, this may dictate your direction. For instance, warm wood tones go really great with blue and green colors, but if you have dark brown, black, or white kitchen cabinets you can go with any paint scheme. Be sure to keep in mind the color of your kitchen tile and your flooring. You wouldn’t want a paint color for your kitchen walls that clashes. ○ Visualize your kitchen color scheme ideas with 3D design software If you are painting the walls, a home and kitchen design program such as Homestyler can save you a lot of time and money. You can create 3D designs of your kitchen and experiment with everything, including paint colors, so you can play with swatches in the program before you buy samples of paint. You can even look up a specific color from the paint manufacturer’s

Home Repair: Kitchen Tile Re-Grout

A video describing how I replaced the grout in my kitchen. The house I’m living in was built in the 1950s. Some of the grout in the kitchen may have been this old. Some sections were chipped and missing, Some sections had been replaced with sanded grout and some sections were so soft that the grout came out with a tooth pick. This video show’s how I removed the old grout and replaced it with new non-sanded grout.
